"Bangkok’s energy is fueled by dense markets, hurried commutes, and full sidewalks, providing endless layers and photo opportunities. I realized that, stripped of color, black-and-white photography emphasized the grit and texture of these scenes while transforming the city’s chaos into isolated moments within the everyday rush.

As I ventured north, the countryside’s stillness offered a unique quiet—vast fields, empty roads, and moments stripped of distraction. Subtle scenes stood out: a dog crossing a road, a sunken boat off in the distance, or soft light filtering through mist. This series of images reflects a journey through contrasts—urban bustle versus rural stillness, chaos alongside calm, and the juxtaposition between modern and rural life."

Meet Nick

Nick Sparks creates original photographic artwork globally and finds beauty in the world through the viewfinder of his camera. International street photography and large format artwork are his areas of interest.

"With a willingness to visually explore and great patience, ordinary moments that one would most likely walk past can become extraordinary, showcasing vibrancy, complexity, and ultimately expressing something through a still image that can't quite be put into words. Sometimes, I click the shutter button once, and the 'indescribable' hits me right away. Other times, I search, and search some more, honing my senses to the interplay of colors and forms, until another unexpected scene blesses me and my camera."
